Frank Stockton: The Business of Illustration

Join us as illustrator Frank Stockton discusses his professional career and the challenges in striking a balance between art and illustration. He will also explore his process of illustration, effectively dealing with art directors and business strategies behind the talent. You might have seen Frank’s work in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Esquire, Playboy, Penthouse, The Rolling Stone, GQ, ESPN The Magazine, Scientific American, National Geographic Adventure, Field & Stream and the Wall Street Journal.

Since graduating in the Spring of 2005 from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Frank Stockton has already began to make his mark on the world of illustration. He has been featured in American Illustration Annuals every year since 2004, been a featured artist in Ashley Wood’s Swallow 3, had several images selected for the Society of Illustrators Annual shows, and is the cover artist for the Communication Arts 2009 Illustration Annual. His work has also been on book covers, billboards, and in galleries, and he has given interviews for Lost at E Minor and the Sidebar Nation Podcast.
